Responsibilities: Must be able to perform scheduled inspections, make repairs, and perform preventive maintenance on both inbound and outbound locomotives in accordance with FRA and customer specifications and following company guidelines and checklists, using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing tools. May assist electricians in performing electrical maintenance duties.
Qualifications: Education required is at least a high school diploma or a GED, and 3-6 months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and skill in using hand tools, power tools, hydraulic tools, welding equipment, cutting tools, and heavy equipment. Ability to calculate area, circumference, length, and volume. Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors and business associates in a clear, concise, courteous and professional manner.
