The Marshall Car Shop was built in 1977 as a dedicated repair facility for the Dow Chemical fleet. Today it is an open shop servicing the tank and freight car industries. The facility is located on 50 acres in East Texas with track storage for 260 cars and is serviced by Union Pacific. Marshall’s 40,000 square-foot, under-roof mechanical shops help serve 30 general maintenance and wreck car positions. These shops are equipped with 15- and 20-ton overhead cranes. There is a capacity of 12 cars in the paint building and 26 cars in the lining shop, plus general repairs, wreck repairs, modifications, retrofitting and inserts. Marshall installed a cleaning rack in 1993 to expand the services provided to its customers. Watco's safety and quality programs are the basis of Marshall’s commitment to continuous improvement to meet all the needs of today’s customers. Abilities:
