The Pecos Valley Southern Railway (PVS) began operations on September 1, 2012. The PVSR operates 33 miles of track formerly operated by Capitol Aggregates. Capitol Aggregates historically operated the railroad to serve their sand and gravel quarry located near the end of the line. Watco provides service to the quarry and to all other Customers on the railroad. The railroad sits in the heart of the Permian Shale Oil basin in west Texas and interchanges with the Union Pacific Railroad, which allows crude oil customers the flexibility to access a variety of markets.
